Artist Statement:
The decision had finally been made to return home again to Australia after living some twenty-two
years in Germany.
Before my return and in that interim period I found myself with an even greater longing for my
home land. This inspired me to create some meaningful and deeply nostalgic art to bridge the gap until I was once again on Australia’s Terra Firma.
I began painting with a new found enthusiasm and created a series of works which included,
“Bridging The Gap” , “Ned” , “Rounding The Buoy”, “Sails And Spinnakers”, “Searching For
Gold” and last but by no means least “A Fair Wind In Fremantle”,.
The memories of golden beaches, endless blue skies and sand between my toes, the taste of salt
water blowing in on a warm soft welcoming summer breeze and the occasional “G,Day” or “No
worries mate”! These inner feelings were assisting my soul to create some of my most vibrant
work to date.
It’s so good to be home again!
