FINALIST - Fisher's Ghost Art Award 2025

We are thrilled to announce that Lori Pensini is a finalist in the Fisher’s Ghost Art Award 2025 with her evocative work 'Yilliminning' - 106 x 120 cm, Oil and Acrylic on wheat sacks. Named after the legendary ghost of Frederick Fisher, this annual award is hosted by Campbelltown Arts Centre in New South Wales and has grown into one of the state’s most respected art prizes, attracting artists nationwide across diverse mediums and themes.

Artist Statement:
Human activities are the primary driver of biodiversity loss and the most important determinant on species distribution, persistence and richness. In response to a trip to endangered native animal sanctuary, Barna Mia, Dryanda, this work on wheat sacks opens up dialogue around the impact of farming on our ecological systems. Alarmingly, there is only 3% of native vegetation left in my childhood landscape, Wheatbelt, WA.

The exhibition runs from 27 September – 16 November 2025 at Campbelltown Arts Centre, and we could not be prouder to see Lori’s work featured in such a significant national platform.
