FINALIST - Lethbridge Small Scale Art Award 2025
We are delighted to extend our warmest congratulations to Lori Pensini, who has been selected as a finalist in the prestigious Lethbridge Small Scale Art Award 2025 with her captivating painting “Dingo.”
Lori, your selection is a testament to your mastery of craft and the evocative power of your storytelling through art. Your ability to transpose the vastness of your land, heritage, and personal histories into small-scale works is truly remarkable.
Artist statement:
"Dingoes are known for their resilience, adaptability and independence. They are a symbol of deep connection and a metaphor here for my younger self living remotely in the Pilbara on Wyloo Station. The isolation from family gave way to a greater kinship and bond with the natural world that will forever define me."
Lethbridge Small Scale Art Award, also known as the Lethbridge 20000 Small Scale Art Award, offers a remarkable opportunity for artists to gain recognition for their 2D or 3D artwork of compact dimensions and judged equally on creativity, originality, and skill. Finalists were announced in late July 2025, with the exhibition set to run from 29 August to 13 September 2025, at Lethbridge Gallery in Paddington, Brisbane.
