‘Landscape plus life’ could be Bronwen’s creative motto. Her paintings – often colourful, sometimes whimsical, always evocative – reflect not only scenes from her life in the vibrant coastal hub of Albany, but the many other places, people scenery and dogs she has known – or hopes to know someday.
In her home studio Bronwen plays intuitively with light, colour and shape to create her distinctive artworks. She is endlessly versatile, moving effortlessly between abstract and representational, landscapes and figurative works. Her relaxed style sees her building layers of paint to tease out forms in the landscape.
The coast especially provides constant fuel for Bronwen’s imagination. Her well – recognised beach scenes – often peopled by crowds of relaxed and playful holidaymakers (and their dogs) – demonstrate her uncommon ability to blend landscape and figurative work.
