HENRYK SZYDLOWSKI

"Credo Art"
Fantasy Surrealism

The whole world is challenged, but we still have reason to celebrate!
Henryk Szydlowski is releasing a collection of paintings as a celebration of 55 years of hard work. It is an honour for The Studio Gallery to be chosen to bring these works to you and we begin by showing you nine paintings online. A further eight of his outstanding works will be released at a later date.

All works shown are framed and available for purchase, we are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Best wishes,
Sandy Tippett
Gallery Director

Henryk Szydlowski makes good art – his unique style and the integrity of his purpose assures us his paintings stand the test of time as they speak to all people. Judith McGrath

You will find yourself smiling while viewing Szydlowski’s work - the artist’s reason for painting is to make people happy. He creates a whimsical world inhabited by birds of all shapes and sizes, striped trees and puppet-like people taking us into a wonderful realm of colour and shimmering glazes. Every painting is like a stage allowing the viewer to interpret the action. Working in meticulous layers upon the canvas a story is composed while the image evolves, the viewer is invited to discover the artist’s narrative or invent one of their own. Szydlowski’s poetic titles provide the entry to the fantasy, guiding the viewer through the painting.
The artist’s many years of experience are evident in his composition and technique, the core of his signature style. Combining a respect for his cultural heritage and an understanding of classical drawing along with selected aspects of modern art, Szydlowski produces a fantastic place and space for all to enter and enjoy the magical essence.
Mindful that good art will communicate across barriers and time, Szydlowski is a painter who comes to his canvas with the desire to create something beautiful. He has no interest in competing with contemporaries, preferring instead to set his own goals.

Critics have been known to say Szydlowski has his own style and is not influenced by any earlier movements in the art world. He is an individual who believes that if the current dictates of art prevent him from making paintings people can enjoy, he will ignore them. Rules change but good art is a constant.
