JOURNEY now and then The landscape of Western Australia has always been the inspiration behind my paintings. When I first began painting my most favourite thing to do other than creating my next piece of course was to go out for country drives in search of my next composition; camera in hand, telling stories with my brushes. I would paint anything and everything from ducks to old rusty trucks and loved every second of my artistic endeavours. 16 years ago, my hubby and I travelled to the Kimberley’s to travel the Gibb River road, and wow the inspiration was amazing. I was totally in awe of the colours and the constant contrast from gorgeous gorges to beautiful endless vastness. Although our glorious North has always inspired me, I feel most at home in the forest. Our beautiful southwest, the majesty of those trees reaching for the sky’s nature garden at its best. I feel at home when I paint the forest, I feel at peace, I am we’re I should be. Janey Emery 2021
