"Heather Jones was born in N.S.W. in 1941. She became interested in paining at an early age, no doubt influenced by her father who was an art teacher and keen water colourist.
Over the course if her career she gained a Diploma in Art Studies, a B.A. at U.W.A majoring in Fine Art and English, held 18 solo exhibitions, as well as taking part in group exhibitions and lecturing in watercolour painting , printmaking and design at TAFE. She has also won numerous awards including the Cossack Art prize, American Wine Label prize and the Tertiary Jewellery exhibition prize.
Colour and form are the areas of creativity Heather finds most interesting as well as the challenge of expressing this across the disciplines of painting, jewellery, printmaking and textiles.”
